What Intentional Does

Intentional is a Chrome extension and web app that helps you use AI tools with purpose. Before each AI session, it asks what you intend to accomplish. It tracks session duration and whether you achieved your goal. That's it.

Data We Collect

When you use Intentional with an account, we store:

  • Your email address (for authentication)
  • Session data: intent text, duration, completion status, and which AI platform was used
  • Timestamps of your sessions

We do not collect, read, or store your AI conversations, prompts, or responses. We have no access to what you type into any AI tool.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • Your AI conversations or prompts
  • Browsing history outside of supported AI platforms
  • Personal files, passwords, or form data
  • Analytics or tracking data (no third-party trackers)

How Data Is Stored

Session data is stored locally on your device first. If you create an account, it syncs to our backend (hosted on Supabase) so you can view it on your dashboard. Your data is isolated by your user account — no one else can access it. You can use the extension without an account; in that case, all data stays on your device.

Permissions

The Chrome extension requests these permissions:

  • storage — save session data and preferences locally
  • alarms — schedule sync and session timers
  • webNavigation — detect when you navigate to an AI platform
  • tabs — identify the active AI platform tab
  • Host access to AI platforms — inject the intent gate and timer UI on supported AI sites (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Poe, NotebookLM)

Third Parties

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to third parties. We use Supabase for authentication and database hosting. No analytics services, ad networks, or data brokers receive your information.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us. Local extension data can be cleared by uninstalling the extension.
